As an aficionado of the Art Deco era, I was awestruck when I first saw the 1937 Bugatti Type 57SC Atalante Coupe. Years later, I learned about the Model 100 plane; developed for the 1939 Deutsch de la Meurthe Cup Race. It wasn’t completed in time for the race, and was put into storage prior to the Nazi invasion of France. Intrigued by both vehicles, I thought it would be interesting to pair them in a single work of art.

porsche 911 turbo - limited edition
Global sales of the 911 Turbo (930) began in 1975, but US availability started in 1976. Emissions rules caused it to leave the US market in 1979, though it returned by 1986. The 930 had blistering performance, but its handling was not for the faint of heart — thanks to its pronounced rear weight bias and turbo lag.
