In the piece at left I pay homage to the 1939 Bugatti Type 57C Atalante (built by Swiss coachbuilder Gangloff). I began this render using a limited color space—the same palette from my Car Cards project—which provided continuity with earlier work. As I progressed, I introduced low‑saturation warm and cool tones in transitional areas between light and dark to add energy and depth. The car’s orange and red accents are repeated in the typography to link those elements. The car is bisected horizontally (most obvious at the wheels) to add interest and imply movement. Finally, the scene is fragmented diagonally to guide the eye from the upper left to the lower right and connect the “Bugatti” and “1939” text; this segmentation also creates a rift in the lower‑left gradation that energizes that area.
